Again and again I receive mails and requests that have the same topic on the content: “Can it be that artists make colors sick”?
The manufacturers advertise again and again with certificates or labels that are to highlight the environmental impact of their colors. “Good for Kids”! or “Environmentally friendly”! is an empty phrase, which states, however, little is known about the dangers of a color. It does not take a chemist to know that certain colors and painting mediums are certainly dangerous. It is generally known that even the smell of a paint or a solvent in sensitive people can cause allergic reactions.
I work with artists’ colors since childhood. I read a lot about the composition and talked with some of the best chemists. Currently, for me an entirely different question: Is there safe colors?
