A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the ongoing murder investigation in Wolverton.

Thomas White, of Bibury Close, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, was charged today (11/06) with one count of arson with intent to endanger life.

White was also charged with two counts of taking a vehicle without consent.

The arson charge relates to a fire on Monday (08/06) in a property in Trevithick Court, Wolverton, in which the body of a man was discovered.

The body discovered in the property is yet to be formally identified however is believed to that of Ashley Gillard, aged 31.

A pathologist at Milton Keynes General Hospital concluded the cause of death was inconclusive and further tests will need to be carried out.

A 24-hour extension to the custody time limit was granted by magistrates this afternoon in relation to a 25-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder.
