Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev warned of “a new world war” if the entry of ground troops to Syria, calling on all forces to come to the negotiating table in order to put an end to the war there.
In an interview published by the German newspaper Handelsblatt Friday, Medvedev said that “ground attacks usually lead to the outbreak of perpetual war,” adding that it would be impossible to win such a war quickly, “especially in the Arab world, where everyone is fighting against everyone.”
He also said, “should compel all parties to sit at the negotiating table rather than the launch of a new world war.”
